21 Hikers Dominate 16 KM!

Today has been a rough day! I am extremely sore after hiking the Samaria Gorge yesterday-we hiked for 12 miles straight and I woke up barely able to move. We woke up at 4 a.m. to get on a bus that took us to the beginning of the gorge. The bus ride was about five hours long, and when we got off the bus it was overcast and kind of chilly. It turned out the weather was perfect-I can’t imagine what it would have been like with the sun in full force. As we were walking down the hill for the last mile or two, we saw beautiful water that was the most amazing blue colors. I think our eyes were so used to looking down at rocks for the previous four hours that the colors seemed brighter than they really were; either way it was a great end to a beautiful hike. We had a couple of hours to ourselves and six of us just sat at a restaurant the entire time and could barely move. We got on a boat to take us to where the bus was picking us up, and we got back home around 11. It was a long day but definitely worth the early morning!
